What did you spill today?

What did you spill today?

Picture this: you’re holding a cup of coffee when someone bumps into you, and—surprise!—coffee spills everywhere. So, why did you spill it?

Most people would say, “Because someone bumped into me!” But the truth is, you spilled coffee because that’s what was in your cup.

The same is true for life. When life shakes you—and it will—whatever’s inside you is what will spill out. It’s easy to keep things together until you’re rattled. So, the real question is: “What’s in my cup?”

When life gets tough, do joy, gratitude, and peace spill over? Or is it frustration, anger, and bitterness? Life gives you the cup, but you choose how to fill it.

Let’s work on filling our cups with kindness, resilience, and love so that when the inevitable bump happens, the spill is something positive.

I mentor two kids and several entrepreneurs. Similarities are coincidental.
