Weekend Watercolor # 114 -Plage Paloma: The Restaurant Is Gone, But the Painting Stays

Plage Paloma has reopened.

The restaurant is gone — a victim of a modernization program that Jean Louis could not abide. The beach has returned to its natural splendor, which is genuinely lovely and absolutely ruins any chance of a lazy lunch, a bottle of something cold, a transat nap, and a gelato.

Back to nature will take some getting used to.

The buggy, meanwhile, is being pressed into other duty. After a paint job.

Some places deserve to be painted before they change. This one changed. The painting stays.

Paloma Beach, Cap Ferrat, France. Watercolor on paper. 2022.
